The second DADA Salon is tonight at Shangri-La Diner (2201 Cherokee) from 8pm-12am! We will be serving up some of the most surreal experiences, crazy antics, and outlandish parlor games to keep the evening fresh! Just bring yourself, your costume, your art supplies, and some witty banter… we will supply the rest! It’s like a rolled potato, good and easy to hold.
Oh and Michelle (LemonSqueezie) is planning a damn clever hidden message hunt. BAM!

See you tonight! You better be there… or else we might think you’re normal…

Whoa! Did you know this cool cat is the featured seller on Etsy.com right now!?
He’s also having a solo show here at Cranky Yellow in April! The show opens Friday April 4, 2008 (7-11pm)
He may be here in the flesh… hopefully…. well…erm…. you never know I guess..
Seriously, though, this show is going to be exceptionally awesome! You should stop by and check it out if you live in the Saint Louis Area! We’d love to see you!

A few Cranky Yellow artists are involved in this winter collaborative at the Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis!
Here is some blurbage:
You are invited to dust off your superpowers, don any special costume they might entail, and join us for an interactive carnival-show of imagination and emancipation.
Tens of St. Louis artists, dancers, yoginis, and videographers have been hanging out, collaborating, and sharing a game of “What if….”
– If our full mythic powers could invade daily life — if creativity is truly a force that can shift, uplift, and catalyze healing in our city, what does it look like?
Our responses created a wildly varied, uplifting, family-friendly performance called May These Changes Make Us Light: A Winter Show Collaborative!
Saturday December 15th - 2 Shows - 7pm and 9pm - Tickets $10 Contemporary Art Museum 3750 Washington Blvd. Saint Louis MO 63108
A sweet show coming up in Minneapolis.

The STL Craft Mafia is throwing a Trunk party on Aug. 18 in St. Louis!
Cranky Yellow will be there along side other members of the Mafia!
Jessica Russo, a fellow member of the STL Craft Mafia, and Don Beasley are having a show down the street from the Cranky Yellow store at Fort Gondo!
I should have posted this sooner since it is happening tonight… but late promotion is better than no promotion!
Go check it out if you can! I think I’ll be there.
Hooray! It is Official… We have been accepted to participate in the Strange Folk Festival 2007! It is a bright new day!
We will also be having a Ceiling Project booth where you can sit down and make a masterpiece for our ceiling! What great fun eh?

Cate Anevski will be in the Shades of White juried show (at Art St. Louis) with her pieces, Mania and Depression. The show runs from July 16 through August 23, and the opening reception is Saturday, July 21, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The address is 917 Locust, in downtown St. Louis. She hopes to see you there, and feel free to say hi if you see her!

“These two works are intended to represent the two sides of bipolar disorder: depression and mania. Many people suffer from this disorder but are forced to go through their lives pretending that nothing is wrong. For many people, bipolar disorder makes it difficult to complete simple daily tasks, yet others are seldom sympathetic to their troubles.
Both depression and mania can cause very violent thoughts, towards oneself and towards others respectively. Sufferers of this disorder must hide these thoughts in order to function in our “normal” society. However, it is extremely painful to have to go through one’s life constantly thinking of violence and pain.
These two girls want so badly for someone to realize how much pain they are in, yet they both struggle to hide their true emotions. In truth, though, their thoughts and feelings are in plain sight, for anyone who chooses to look closely enough.” — Cate Anevski
