Larry Hodge What's your favorite shape (geometric or otherwise)? I guess the circle- it hasn't let me down yet-Do you hate almost all colors or are you deeply in love with the sharpie? I'm afraid to leave her- we are kinda psyce-syncedWhich school subject did you do best in? I can't remember? I graduated so I guess I was average enough in all-Which primary school teacher did you like the most? Mrs. Minamedae circa '79. She always tried to teach us weird folk dances- I use to look through the book at all the celtic design from england, germany, norse and the pacific island designs- for a 10 year old Beardsley (my main guy) kid- it was great... I remember all the kids got into it-Do you think teachers are underpaid? Everyones underpaid-
What or who has influenced you the most in your artistic development? Before mentioned Beardsley- I was introduced at a really early age- I get attached quickly- and suess- later on I got into Gory- I discovered him around the time I was getting into bic pen's- sometimes when I doodle 'bic' I think of him- he got me into characters- before I just doodled random crap.Do you think your artistic heroes would like what you do? I dunno- Perry Farrel hasn't said anything - and the rest are deadWhy do you enjoy drawing mostly abstract shapes and designs? Yhats just my bag, baby- I do other stuff- but that's for another time.Do you leave any hidden messages within the patterns you lay out? (Do we win a prize if we figure one out?) Yes.
Which five works are you most proud of creating? My kid- firstly- and then everything else is just black ink on white paper.What would you say to someone that hates your artwork and quite frankly, you? I spend too much time dealing with the drama of the ones who like my artwork and me- and the ones that hate it but like me- that I wouldn't have time to deal with those people- god love them all- they have a right- it doesn't keep me up at night.What would you say to someone that's in love with your artwork (and perhaps you as well)? Hey honey- are you into three-somes?Where is the most beautiful place on the planet? Yosemite.
What affect do you want your works to have on other people? Like all artists alive today- I hope after I'm dead my relatives get rich on my shit-What do you feel and think when you look at your own works? My eyes hurt and my wrist is achy-Do you employ any special tricks that help you draw as well as you do? I kill a grape eighth to the gods of inspiration- grape eighth , grape eighth.
What is being a "success" to you? How far are you from being a "success? What's currently in the way of it? Lack of money / fame/ world accdeptence- once I figure that part out I'll get back to uWhat do you plan to do with either you current or future success that would be of benefit to the people of the planet (or just the people on the planet that you like)? What???
What is something you will never draw even if there was a comically large cannon aimed at your head? An 'X' in the box in front of a republican candidate- the dems ain't doing it for me lately either...How long did it take, and how much practice, before you became proficient in your design? I've been doodling since birth- a long ass time people!!!What artistic areas do you want to expand into, where do you need to increase your skills? All I really wan't to do is porn...
What's your greatest personal fault? (And "Working too hard" is used for job interviews, not Ange'-views). Working too much... Does that count?When was the last time you cried, why?
