While making this work I have thought about the cost of things. Necessary items like shelter, clothing, the cost of being comfortable in your home, and the price of healthy food. “Healthy food” meaning not food from fast food chains or prepackaged dinners, but local fruits and vegetables and non GMO, meats and other proteins. It isn’t impossible to buy “heathy foods” but it is expensive.

Food became something special and precious; not only to me but culturally. When someone can’t buy clothing or pay a major expense or even save money because they want fresh food; having that food is a luxury.

What I have done is include myself. I wear fresh sometimes cooked food as if it we jewelry. It wasn’t bought to nourish me it was bought to enhance me. To make me stand out and for a viewer to take notice. My expression adds something special too.
