Please see below:

Dear Friends,

Since the murder of Michael Brown in August 2014, St. Louis poets have been writing.

Our poems capture the desolation that follows lives lost, the experience of protest and direct political action, the emotional experience of racism, the power of love and friendship – and more.

Literature for the Halibut, 88.1 KDHX’s literary program, seeks to compile these poems into a digital album, to be released in August 2015. (If funds allow, possibly a CD or printed book.)

If you have written a poem that could be included in the album, we want to record you reading it.

We will be recording poems at KDHX studios (3524 Washington) on Sunday, July 12 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. If you are interested in participating, please RSVP to me with the title of your piece and the approximate time you’ll be able to arrive.

Also, please share this with anyone you think may be interested!!

If you are not available on July 12th, we can schedule an individual session. Please reach out. I want KDHX’s little megaphone to share our words as broadly as possible.

With so much love and gratitude,
Nicky Rainey
