The Foundrie is a beautiful pop-up market curated by Shelah McClymont of Destroyed by Design. Every holiday season Shelah and her team bring together an eclectic gathering of handmade objects to feature in a brick/mortar shop for a few months. The space has an organic atmosphere with a warm, deeply cultural aesthetic. The objects for sale range from fine art sculptural items to functional housewares.

Here is a bit of promotional text snagged from The Foundrie’s website:

{Applications for the 2010 season will be open from Sept. 13-Oct. 31st.}

Our carefully curated brick and mortar shop will feature the work of local artists, crafters, and independent designers to provide one of a kind gift options to thousands of holiday shoppers. We will be open December 1st -26th during regular and extended holiday hours.

The Foundrie is currently negotiating for a location for the 2010 holiday season at The St. Louis Galleria and Chesterfield Mall. We hope to have the lease signed on one of these spaces by the beginning of October and will post the info here as soon as it is official.

This year we are looking to fill the shop with hand picked items from the following categories: housewares, home decor, jewelry, clothing, accessories, stationery, bath & body, fine art, and gift items of all sorts. In order to create a unified and beautifully merchandised space we are focusing our search on items with a specific style and design in mind.

If you are the maker of incredible goods and would like to find out if any of your wares would be a great fit for The Foundrie, please apply at:
